#4. Eat foods that can clean your teeth.

Did you know that certain foods actually help to keep your teeth clean as you eat them? Foods that are crisp and firm, such as apples, celery and carrots, are known as nature’s toothbrushes, and they make great snacks when you don’t have time to brush your teeth in the near future.

#5. Rinse your mouth after you eat acidic foods.

Acidic foods and drinks, including oranges, lemons, limes etc., can actually eat away at the enamel of your teeth. When the enamel gets eaten away, it makes the teeth more prone to staining. When you eat acidic foods or drink acidic beverages, you should always rinse your mouth out with water afterwards.

#6. Avoid brushing with baking soda.

Many people claim that baking soda can help to whiten the teeth, and while this may be true, it is very abrasive and can also be harmful. It is also important to note that baking soda can harm the enamel, which makes it easier for stains to form on your teeth.
